I am very disappointed in the opening day.
Maybe because it was opening day they were having problems.
Seeing this, I will never go to another opening day again.

First, I get there early to get first rides. My online ticket, along wit a lot of others didn't work so we had to wait in a line [which took about 20 minutes!] just to get our HANDS stamped.

I stood inline at the borg for TWO hours...they said it was a 45 minute to an hour wait...yea. I was there from 12:15 to like 2:30. They had "difficulties" the second i make it near the front of the line and ONE train was running...personally, me along wit the other "friends" I made standing there think that they should not have opened it until TWO trains were working. The "10 minute" delay turned out to be more like 30 minutes. Man we were all HEATED [mentally and physically]. I could care less if I rode it but my boyfriend cared [afterwards, he didn't lol]. I told him it wasn't worth the wait but we were so CLOSE, that I wasn't about to turn around! No more BORG for a lil while...gr.

Then, I wanted to get on CYCLONE because...well...its my first coaster ever so I wanted to do it. Got there and it wasn't open. =-I

Then I wanted to get on Thunder Road...the whole section of that part of the park was closed off for 15 minutes....okay.....??

Some of the employees were acting quite...CHILDISH. On the log ride, it was backed up because the two workers were acting stupid on the phone with somebody...the lady in line was getting impatient. I have no clue who but i'm betting that it wasn't IMPORTANT! [they were laughing and joking around]

Got on TOP GUN [my fave and still my fave] and got stuck on the lift hill (i have always wanted that to happen woo). In a way, it freaked me out tho...

WINGS! MY FAVORITE RESTURANT! WHAT HAPPENED??
No more free refills and all the ketchup containers were empty...No lids for the sodas...At least its air conditioned I guess...

The whole new height restriction thing was throwing off a LOT of little kids on the rides I was on...that made an even LONGER wait than usual...

To top off all the coasters in the park, me and my guy wanted to get on VORTEX...surprise surprise...ITS CLOSED at like 4 o'clock....okay????

Thunderroad Forwards was stuck on the lift hill [no shock there] But to be honest, THUNDEROAD and TOPGUN were my two fave coasters today seeing as how I rode every single one about 8 times each. Ha.

Over all...I'm VERY not happy with the first day. The rest of the season better look better...I have been telling my boyfriend so much about the park and how wonderful it is and everything...he was VERY dissapointed. We are going to Busch Gardens this summer. =-(

I still love the park tho...Don't get me wrong...I just had a bad time TODAY. [BORGS fault....2 HOURS!]

Did southern star run AT ALL? There was NO line at all...lol Guess nobody knew what it was...??

Rides are going to break down on opening day. What do you except? Yeah they may test them before the park opens, but this is the first day of the season they are running constant.

Sorry you had a bad opening day dear. In the past opening days have usually been flawless. I hope Cedar Fair gets all these kinks worked out soon. Also Southern Star is still 'under construction' as far as I know. That is probably the reason it wasn't open.

If you think last year was at all "guest" friendly then you are in for a long year! I suggest you copy this letter and send to the Guest Relations Manager or someone to make sure your concerns are heard. This forum is a great place to vent however nothing can or will be done other than a discussion. Your concerns and especialy your energy should be directed to someone who can make a difference. Doesnt mean that they will respond the way you would like but at least you have voiced your concerns

I mean don't get me wrong...
I love the park still.

I was just so embarrased because I made a big deal of the park and my friend was so dissapointed [It was his first amusement park ever. hes 21]. He was like "That was it? We are going to Six Flags next time." I told him its probaly just because its opening day and everything but oh well. We're going back next month anyways. Its the closest park to where I live.

I still think that the coasters should be running the right way I mean they had a whole season to get everything together. I really don't think that there is an excuse to have Cyclone down first thing in the morning...I mean...did it stop working over night???....

Its not so much that they had a whole season to work on them, its that this was the first time mass amount of people were actually on them, not to mention bad operators, lol. Things were bound to happen. You can't be prepared for everything. Everything seemed to be working fine today from what I could tell.
