So I made my way to Carowinds to check out the new wavepool and too my surprise it was pretty nice. Its a pretty big pool at the edge from one side to the other and I like how the waves come all the way in. I think it was a nice addition to the park. It was very crowded today so I think it is going to be a big success. The cabanas looked small...I bet they are expensive, I didnt go check. On another note... I was able to get a glimpse of the construction progress from the sky tower and it looks like concrete has been poured and a layer of gravel was smoothed over the center of the rectagular shape. Looks like the waterpark is going to have a busy summer.... (as usual)

I don't want to say it wasn't needed, but I am excited about it. It looks alot better than the old one, but it doesn't look capable for producing any good waves like the old wavepool could. I also think the cabanas are going to be an addition that won't show it's ability for profit right away. I am more excited about Yo Yo overall.

I actually like the waves in the new pool better than the old. They seem to be bigger. I didnt go in the pool very far as it was freezing cold but from the waves rolling in they looked pretty big. I think it is a successful expansion. I wish they would have added a new slide though I think the waterpark could use another slide of some sort. Maybe take out mini-golf and add a slide in that area or something...It may look weird but at least its a new slide... It wouldnt surprise me if they add something else tot he waterpark in the near future... As far as the cabanas.. I dont know how successful those were I didnt really see many people over in them. They dont look like they are worth paying for and I am assuming its at least $15 as a tube rental is $10. I liked my spot under the umbrella just fine.

Ha! If only they were that little of a price. Those things are at the cheapest 54.99 and upwards to 99.99. Meanwhile my mortgage barely touches the 400.00 per month range...and no to mention thats about a nights stay at a hotel for the price of those cabanas.

Nah, A new Frisbee, or Top Spin!

The new wave pool is actually better than I previously thought it would be. I had a hard time finding it due to the thousands of people in my way!!! Anyways, the theme and buildings looks great and I can't complain. ^I agree, fill in the pool and give us a flat!

Doubt it, the wavepool takes up 25% of the park, and they have used up most of the land they own.

As far I know the campground owns everything next to WnW.

Yeah I agree our expansions haven't been that great for boomerang bay. Kings Dominion got a wave pool. a proslide tornado, and a family raft ride. We got a pool, a used slide from Kings Dominion, and a new wave pool. A massive Hurricane Mountain-esque slide would be good............or we can just jump on the bandwagon and throw a tornado in. Whats the nearest tornado to Carowinds anyway?
