Does anyone know if they are planning a Media day again this year and if so who would be invited?
It would be cool to have a sneak preview day for Season Pass holders and Coaster clubs.

Uhh...well there's definitely the media, but I think that's about it.

Unless you are part of a media group or station, I don't think you can go. Hopefully I'm wrong, and for this one occasion they could allow SP Holders.

Don't count on that.

Having SP holders goto Media Day may be a good incentive for more people to buy season passes.

That would be nice but I doubt that will happen. I wish that would happen so we can see the park before it opens!

If they were really generous, they would offer a Sneak Preview Weekend for Passholders like Dollywood does.

Dollywood's is the Saturday and Sunday prior to the Grand Opening, when the park is open only to people who own passes, and all the rides are running. They have merchandise givaways, discounted food, so on...

Six Flags Over Georgia has had a Passholder "Season Wrap Up" party for the past two years now. They hold it the weekend after the park closes to the public in November. They run all of the coasters, but none of the flats or water rides.

I think either one would be a nice way for Carowinds to get some PR going...

Media days are just for the media and invited guests. Season pass holders usually aren't invited. Media days are fairly tightly controlled events so there can't be a whole lot of people there. There will be tv channels and newspapers there covering the event. You can't just have Joe Schmoo walking up to Channel 3 asking to be on tv. Its all done on an RSVP basis . You'll see plenty of press from the event and that will help sell those season passes.

The last time that I remember a season pass holders preview for a new coaster was for the Vortex. That's not to say that there won't be one for BorgAss but I haven't heard of one yet.

He is right. Last year when they held media day for Reptar and Spongebob only "big people in the park" and media are invited. The crew is also allowed to "preview" because they are working the ride. That is it. They would not even let other ride associates and team leaders come. I was able out of luck and who I knew, but other than that it is very tight.

There will be one for Borg; however, I dont know when yet.

I could have sworn that Media day last year at Carowinds was Canceled due to a real world event. There was no Media Day last year. You might have been thinking of the year before.

If they were more nice they would let the passholders to ride all the rides a weekend before it opens. We could have the park to ourselves. This would be nice.

It would also be extremely expensive for the park. A special ride preview day would be neat though, and it has been done in the past. In 1996 there was a season pass preview event for Drop Zone.
