General Carowinds discussion

So Max messaged me and asked if I was interested. I was, even though I had plans. Hey, this was free food, a chance to not have to make a special trip just to ride a non-credit new coaster with a new train, and the opportunity to meet some new people. Plus I wanted to make sure they remember to invite me NEXT year...

And of course it rained. Carowinds really does a great Media Day, though. New this year: Carolina Cobra, a 2nd hand Boomer with awesome new trains that make Boomerangs fun. I really liked it. Plus the area looks nice. One of the things they said (and it was obvious) was that they've painted rides and buildings, upped their landscaping, and added banners. It shows. Max said, and I've heard before, that Cedar Fair really believes in this park. I guess we'll see next year for sure, but especially the following years.

Welcome to Media Day!

I arrived as an empty train was cycling for the crowd.

'Twas dreary, and the audio had problems, but Dani, the new PR lady, is ULTRA Hot!

The new sign is nice. I met Jarvis here. Sans tripod. (He was hit hard by the economic downturn)

A full video of the ride (Notice no screams of pain...)

They had a decent cover band playing in a tent with good food.

A new banner, and some new palm trees.

Ice Cobra rocks my socks.

Nighthawk looks really nice painted. The ride still blows, though.

It made me sick. Goldrusher was open, but I didn't ride. A couple games were open, but you didn't win a prize. I did get an onride photo and a little cobra pin, though.

Yes, people were smiling on the ride. So, my verdict? I know people (myself included) complained about this addition. Having said that, the ride is the best boomer I've ridden (actually, it kept that spot, as I liked it at Geauga, but now it's a ride I'd ride each visit). If the train maintains the non roughness, I'll keep riding. I hate they took a coaster out for this, but Cobra is a good coaster to tide us over for next year.
