I am overwhelmed with emotions since we only have 36 more days before we can go out and play. With all the surveys last year and so far this year I am really hyped out our park. We will have our first "themed" coaster and are the first in the world to have a coaster named after Start Trek. While that may not sound impressive 100 years from now we will still be the First in the world to have done that.
Getting some fresh paint around the park is going to help and I can't wait to get inside the new theater and see what else they have done for us.
I rode by there Sunday and saw the lift and loop of Borg and as we drove around we too saw all the light poles were down and we even saw a fork truck that had just dropped of a pile of lumber beside Thunder Road. It did not look as if Vortex was repainted yet but I feel they will since Borg will be beside of it and in plain sight.
Think about it for a minute. If you walked in thru the front gate you came over the bridge and saw the Carowinds sign and the old island for years. Now you will have allot more eye candy and sound to entice your senses. The roar of Borg along with the roar of Vortex is surely a sound not to be missed by anyone.
I have come to enjoy all things that relate to any park instead of just the coasters. Over the last 2 years I have taken over 500 photos and over 6 hours of video from Carowinds and every time I look or watch a video I see something else that is quite cool.
I think we are in a great transitioning stage with Carowinds and I look forward to all the changes they can bring be it small or big. Being 42 years of age now and my kids being 17 and 14 it won't be that much longer (hopefully at least 3 to 5 years) before you could call me Grandpa so I embrace the "kiddy" stuff they throw in and the thought of possibly getting an updated water park in the next year or so is even another reason for me to keep buying those season passes.
Well, I for one can't wait can you?
