Chocolate? Roller Coasters? Mecca.

Welcome to Hershey, PA. Population: Choclate.

Image

On a side note, I also passed by a Nestle' distribution plant in PA.

Moving on, Today was a beautiful day to go to Hersheypark.

Image

I've been wanting to get to Hersheypark FOREVER. This is a park I've been by, but never to. Just like Dorney. Today was the day!

Image

The front of the park really reminded me of Busch Gardens Willaimsburg/The Old Country/Europe.

Image

Image

Maybe even with a slight bit of Disney thrown in the fountain, for good measure?

Image

First coaster of the day: Wildcat. I hear the GCI trains made it not as fun, but it was still nice.

Image

The mouse was crazy. We got stuck on the brake run for about 10 minutes. I Facebooked from the car.

Image

Live bands in parks are awesome. More parks need to do this. Hersheypark and FMP both had nice bands playing live songs.

Image

I was really looking forward to riding this, but the weight was slightly longer than I'd wanted to wait at that moment. So we went to Stormrunner. I'll explain why that was a mistake when we get to Fahrenheit.

Image

Rode the Boomer later in the evening. It was rather fun, actually.

Image

Mmmm...Stormrunner. I've REALLY been excited about this, and was not let down. Loved it. Just wish it was longer...

Image

Since I didn't get to ride at Dorney, I toyed with riding here, but skipped it and never came back to it.

Image

This ride Kicks major Booty!

Image

The old wooden coaster was more fun than I was lead to believe.

Image

Next was this wonderful beast, Great Bear. I love everything about it. Not the best ever, but it was a solid ride.

Image

I was not impressed with SooperDooperLooper: The Mine Train.

Image

The actual mine train wasn't great either. But this was great:

Image

Best part of the ride. I expected something like Revolution and was let down. It's not bad, just kinda boring.

Image

So we rode the Kissing tower.

Image

Mostly to get shots of the coasters.

Image

Image

Image

You can also see the town from up there. Quaint little town it is.

Image

If only you were really chocolate on the inside...

Image

It wasn't bad, but I'm not a mine train fan.

Image

Okay, so Farneheit. We rode. The line was about 30 minutes. It was okay. The first drop was good, the Norwegian loop was neat, and the last hill was like the one hill on Maverick. But I was expecting it to be more Maverick like and it wasn't. I may have liked it better had I rode it before Stormrunner, though.

Image

The only credit in the park I missed. They closed 5 minutes before we got there. Didn't know it closed with the Boardwalk at 8. Boo!

Image

The boardwalk area is so nice. The tiny Wavepool is cute.

Image

We got our Lightening Racer on too.

Image

Another shot of Wildcat from Lightening Racers.

Image

Didn't ride the Hershey Wheel, but did go and ride Great Bear and Stormrunner again.

Image

After Dinner...

Image

We rode SooperDooper again, as well as the Bear and a shot on the dark ride, which was fun.

It was dark and as the park closed we headed out. Matt and I had skipped Chocolate World going in, but it was still open, so we went and rode the dark ride and I got some chocolate Twizzlers. All in all, a great day. Can't wait to go back to this park.

Really enjoy these park reviews. Some health issues don't allow me to enjoy the parks like I once did. Back in the 1970's we would travel all over going to parks. The Beast was my favorite but due to crowds rode only once....need to go back and ride again.
Thanks!
PS is that a monorail running through town??
