Yeah, I finally went to Camden again after like 20+ years. I needed the credits. The park was better than I expected, and they've cleaned it up compared to pix I've seen of it recently. I wasn't scared to ride anything, either!

Oh, and for all you people that like your captions BELOW the pics, this PTR is for you.

Image

This...was not up and running. It's in the perfect spot for a spinny mouse, too.

Image

I went after 5pm at about half price. Totally worth it.

Image

Yay! I'm finally here! I never come to this part of the state unless I'm passing thru to Ohio.

Image

Didn't ride the Dodgem, but the looked fun.

Image

Did ride this, and OMG it's one of the best Whips I've ridden. Granted, that's only 3, but this was by far the best.

Image

The last time I was here, this made me sick. I opted out this time. Any time I ride a Spider or Octopus, I hurl.

Image

See that sign? It should read "Haunted Mouse", because that's what the ride is like. You go up a chain lift, whip around, go down the hill, then up and into the ride. It's basically like a wild mouse inside. Cute, and fun. But I'm not counting it. At least not yet.

Image

The Carousel house was overly large.

Image

N.A.D.s! So, Dipper was actually a lot of fun. Not rough, has a couple nice drops, a long tunnel, and was just fun. On my first ride, this family took their small child who was maybe 3 years old, and in a stroller up. They actually put him on, and the Op, even with a stated height requirement of 42 inches, let him ride. The kid was NO WHERE NEAR that height. Oh well. It was fun.

Image

How VERY true.

Image

The park's choo choo.

Image

Little Dipper was fun too. Not Fairly Odd Coaster good, but fun.

Image

Didn't ride, but I liked the setting. I LOVE weeping willow trees.

Image

The park's Swan Lake.

Image

On the other side of Little Dipper there was a great space for a Moser Family Bounce ride. I'd be here every weekend if they had a good one.

Image

The midway beside Big Dipper

Image

Hot Cat was not running, and I wanted to ride.

Image

Dipper's main drop was fun, and there was air on the top of the next hill.

Image

The back side of the coaster. The tunnel is long.

Image

Old school scrambler.

Image

Not good at them, so I didn't even bother

Image

See? Lift hill AND drop. Total Credit (I've almost talked myself into it).

Image

The Sky Ride to nowhere.

Image

The up charge "Thrill" seat.

Image

The new mini golf course was actually quite nice.

Image

The coaster could use a new paint job.

Image

Scared myself on here leaning over to get a shot whilst parked at the top.

Image

And Bu-Bye.

Image

Mmmm...Sheetz! Had to stop and get a toasty buffalo chicken sub.

So, I actually kinda liked Camden. And even though it's not close, I'd definitely make the trip back up to the park quicker than I would have before. But it's hard when Carowinds and Dollywood are just as close.

Hey Carowinds, THIS is what a mini golf course is supposed to look like!

Nice report Edwardo, looks like a cool place. You get points taken away though for skipping the Flyers.

I went in 2006 I think it was and thought it was a nice little traditional park.

Glad to see they installed the mini golf, and did such a nice job with it too.

I was alone so I didn't get to ride the dive wheel thingy, can't recall their name. I think I rode pretty much everything else except the monster (also makes me sick) and the scrambler. Their whip is the only one I've been on, and loved it.

THE park that started it all for me!!! I have old 8mm film of me and my brother on the little hand powered cars......I hear they are still there but not hand powered any longer. Camden is why I love parks......my aunt lived up the street from there in the late 50's and early sixtys....and we went every time we visited until we moved to California.....and you can guess what happened when we moved there!
Also a note about Camden. My daughter is a Spl Ed consultant in the area and Camden works with her a lot to get kids in free during off times. So while I have not been in years my daughter now goes often!
Thanks for the tour!

PS. Camden is one of the true old school parks....built by the Trolley line so people would ride on the weekends!
