Cedar Fair officially announced the purchase of 61 acres of land adjacent to Carowinds:

That just got me excited... But, like chknwing said, where is the land? Isn't Carowinds mostly surrounded by parking lots and stuff at this point?

Coaster over Carowinds BLVD would be awesome but I think the land is that land behind The Hurler

if it is the land behind The Hurler, One would thing they would put a ride worth walking to since it will be the furthest from the entrance. Kinda like Top Thrill Dragaster is at the back of the park in Cedar Point.

I think they need to make that part of a new area you can walk in the park, not just put a ride back there. Of course with this much land they can put in a massive ride in now. I mean the Beast at Kings Island takes up 35 acres. Interesting to see how they will use this land in the next several years.

Thats really a ton of land just for an expansion, could Cedar Fair be thinking on building a hotel?

Hotel was part of the original design for the park when it first opened. That could be part of the use of the land. However it seems like Carowinds needs more land for expanding rides than a hotel.
