General Carowinds discussion

I'm taking my daughter for her birthday this year and we've never been before. I've sent emails and tried calling but no response yet. I just have one simple question I hope someone here can help.

Do the rides run during the SCarowinds hours? Thanks in advance! :)

Two people said it already, but I'll go ahead and say it anyways: Yes.

It's mostly the bigger rides, like Intimidator, Afterburn, Nighthawk, Vortex, Thunder Road, Hurler, etc. However, I do recall going on the Flying Ace Aerial Chase kiddie coaster during Scarowinds in 2007. Besides that, the majority of kiddie rides are closed because it is a PG13 event.

EDIT: To avoid further confusion, you can bring kids under 13 to Scarowinds. It's just recommended that they are older.

ok, I have a scarowinds question of my own, seeing as though I have heard both yes and no from this.

I have heard that after 11:00 all unaccompanied children (under 16) are asked to leave the park, is this true? And if so, is it due to some intensity that occurs after that time? Thanks!

I'm not familiar with this.

Also, add a few more rides to the list due to Scarowinds events other than the kiddie rides... The Spongebob Action Theater, and Dodgems also close due to Scarowinds. I know they have in the past years, and it will probably happen again this year.

It's not because of intensity levels escalating, it's because of the curfew Charlotte has in place. But to answer your question:no, Scarowinds doesn't enforce the curfew in the park.

Hey there,

I just had one of my questions answered here regarding the rides.

I've got a Wonderland Platinum Pass and I'm thinking about making the long drive down for the weekend before HalloweeN. (22nd/23rd) How crazy, in general, is the park for regular day operations and then the Scarowinds event. I'm more into the rides then the mazes (plus I'll be by myself so walking around those things by myself isn't appealing :) ).

The question is do I use my pass one last time this year, or since I want to hit up Kings Dominion & Busch Gardens next year... do I wait for a quieter time at Carowinds while school is still in.

Thanks

Let's make a list of rides that are closed during Scarowinds (please add to mine what I leave off) and perhaps after Friday night someone can update it. I'm going Saturday night I hope.

Closed during Scarowinds:

Everything in Planet Snoopy
Rip Roarin' Rapids
White Water Falls
Action Theatre
Dodg'ems

What else?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure Flying Ace Aerial Chase/Runaway Reptar is open.
