Yeah, I'm late. Wanna fight about it?

Anywho, HWN 2012 was amazing. Great weather (too cold for me to frolic in the water park, but whatevs). Voyage was insane. So was Legend. And Raven was solid.

That's an Instagram pic of me and my buddy Matt Scott. Fun Fact: Matt Scott actually came up with the name "Holiwood Nights" when the park was looking to name a new event. Moosh (RIP) brought it up on Coasterbuzz and Matt's suggestion became the name. So thank him when you see him.

I'm SOOOOO...very sorry that you don't have these on the West Coast. Even In & Out doesn't really compare.

I decided to do the walk back for once. You get up close and personal with the wood at Holiday World.

I love Legend. Always have. More than Raven. It was running INSANE this year. On Friday my friend Rob and I got 2 back to back backseat rides with no one else in the train. In the dark. Amazing.

But seriously, Legend was Killing. It.

It was down when we went to ride. Oh well. It was just okay when I rode 2 years ago.

I had room in my car but I was worried about my MPG.

Such an imposing structure.

You get a whole new perspective of the area the ride takes up on the walk back.

And lots of shots otherwise unpossible.

I think I only got one daytime ride and that was Friday before the park closed. Its good during the day. It KILLS at nite. Sickening.

All of the new track work was much appreciated.

Awesome stuff. I hope they get another coaster soon, just so I have an excuse to go there. Not that I need one.

Its very strange to me how the "tall swing ride" craze has caught on so quickly. They've been around forever in Europe, but just in the last 2 years there have been 5 WindSeekers at the Cedar Fair parks, 5 SkyScreamers at the Six Flags parks (and LaRonde) as well as a few smaller parks like Holiday World, Galveston Pier, and Martin's Fantasy Island. Just wondering what happened where suddenly they are the ride-de-jour. In my 10+ years of being an enthusiast I don't think I've ever seen the industry latch on to a single ride type so quickly.

Also don't worry about the lateness.. I'm in the middle of writing a report from a trip from 10 months ago. (I swear it will see the light of day! ) They take a lot of work and focus (my problem) but I enjoy the finished product so much. Plus I think every trip has a story worth telling.
