So I've been seeing the lower part of the 2014 park map on a lot of coaster blogs, groups and Facebook. I've had the opportunity to ride Colossus many times on vacations to the west coast to visit family. What do you all think the plans are for such a classic coaster. This season they're offering backwards rides, which is great I'll be over there in early August. Do you think Colossus will be scrapped or do you think Six flags will continue with the good ole RMC hybrid redo? Which can be interesting being the first hybrid racer.

Most likely it'll be getting a refurbishment of some sort just like Cyclone over in SFNE. It was either that or demolition since some of those modifications that's been done to the two over the years have resulted in some real eyesores what with previous sections of track still visible beneath the rerouted course. But the real question here is what will the new layout be like? Colossus is the real unknown factor since it'll be the first racing/dueling woodie that RMC will be tackling. So... will Colossus remain a dual-tracked course or remade into a singular one? There's 8.650 feet of track involved here so will Colossus be shortened or no? Since we all know that SFMM enjoys numerous inversions for their coaster designs how many heart-line (excuse me, "California") rolls will there be? Ten per side? That'll be a world record with twenty in all.
