General Carowinds discussion

With the possible removal of Silver Scream then we may see a new maze take its place. Where at I'm not sure. I do think the area back by hurler should receive a scare zone as Scary Tales was lacking and wasn't even really in the Thrill zone area (more in Vortex area).

I do think that Carowinds is running out of space as Camp K had the most woods or atleast felt like it. Unfortunately as we all know here on the forum we tragically lost our beloved Camp K to the "Awesome" Dinosaurs that we all love.

If SSC is removed, we will most likely see another maze. I say we drop some scarezones and focus more on mazes. Scary Tales and The Playground are, let's just face it, lacking. They aren't scary and are just a waste of props and energy. I say less scarezones, more mazes. Mass Acres also is awful. Feeding Frenzy is the only one left I like. Fury could also be redone into a much better maze than it is. Cornstalkers is older and could be made into a different outdoor themed maze.

Just my ideas.

I think it may be a bit ambitious to think that there will be a maze at the back of Hurler like in years past. The construction this year will probably affect that area to the point where there cannot be a maze. That being said, I hope that SSS makes a return to the area after the new coaster is completed. I like the Scare Zones as they are and instead of expanding or changing them, I would like to see more effort placed into adding more roving interactive scaracters to entertain the guests. It seems that in years past the rovers seem to travel more in packs as opposed to roving solo. I also hope for the return of an outdoor maze (maybe covering up the dinos and using their path/theming for something scary).

This is exactly what I had in mind since last year I think it would be a great idea, however if I can remember correctly there is one really big dinosaur that will be a challenge to cover up. I think there could be something done that includes the dinosaurs. I'm just not sure how that would go. Either way its a ton of valuable land that can be used for a maze.

Dino's wouldn't even have to be covered. If they put panels or something up along the trail they wouldn't need to cover them, or if it's dark enough the Dino's wouldn't even be noticeable. But I don't know.

It'd be cool to see a "neanderthal" themed haunt that could include the dinos and take place in Dinosaurs Alive. Cave men horror movies were a fairly popular subgenre in the past, so the concept isn't as ridiculous as it might seem. They could incorporate the dinosaurs and add some fog, bones/decorations and lighting, theme it to recently de-thawed cavemen with a cannibalistic taste for blood. I think that'd be amazing, personally.

I want Silver Scream to stay, its one of my favorite mazes of any park. I also hope Harmony Hall doesn't affect the amazing positioning of London Terror.

Another cool idea would be to have a scarezone in the countyfair area with carnival barkers and actors staging a horrifying freakshow.

Feel free to use these ideas Cedar Fair ;)

What should happen at Scarowinds this year is.....

All persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a adult. Sorry kiddos but I personally am tired of having to dodge
a group of teenagers that are shoving each other around while inside of the mazes.

I'd like to see 2 new mazes (one to replace Fury and the other to make up for the fact that we lost 2 mazes last year and gained 1 mediocre one.)

Revamp Last Laff... It's getting stale.

Ok Blood Drums.. yeah... ummm move it to somewhere that isn't going to cause a traffic jam during every show.

Lose Mass Acres.. it's more lifeless than a group of zombies. Which is sad since that's what they are supposed to be.

Scary tales is kinda neat... would have been better if replaced Children's Playground instead of the Cemetary.

They really just need to bring back the Slaughterhouse and dump Fury.

They seemed to be doing work on the Asylum when I was there a couple weeks ago. Are we in danger of losing our two best mazes, Asylum and Silver Scream Cinema, in the same year? They already retired the local legend Slaughterhouse and look how that turned out.
