I see from time to time a discussion that C.F. should buy this attraction from park X or relocate an attraction.

My question for anyone (geek) is in the past 20 years how many Used attractions has C.F. actually bought and relocated to another park?

I'm not sure if this counts but one could argue they bought an entire park with the intention of moving everything (coasters and flats) to different parks. RIP Geauga Lake.

True, thank you, and yes it counts but that was a different kind of situation.

I was more curious about a yearly type thing.

WindSeeker opened at Knott's in 2011, closed in 2012, then was relocated to Worlds of Fun for this year. I guess that was more about technical problems, though.

I can't recall Cedar Fair really doing this much (thankfully). I know they have relocated some of the upcharge rides. Skyscraper at Cedar Point was at Dorney Park and Valleyfair (and still had Valleyfair on the control panel as of 2010).

I can't think of any used rides that Cedar Fair has bought. I doubt that they will in the future, either. They have a reputation for safety and maintaining their rides well so they get a lot of life out of them. When you follow that pattern it makes sense to but new and get the full support from the manufacturer from day 1. I don't see them trying to save a few bucks by buying something used with an unknown history.

Rides that still have life in them and aren't maintenance nightmares are relocated and we may see that continue. A good example is Stinger at Dorney that opened in 2012. It was relocated from CGA. That happened under Kinzel, though. I can't think of anything relocated since Ouimet took over so who knows if that will continue.

Six Flags on the other hand...

As all chains do relocate some attractions at times some are more prolific at it.
