Rode Scream Weaver today and noticed two things:
1) The part of the grate covering the pit is missing.
2) The paint is sun faded.

Plus didnr the gondola's have lights on them?

Maybe this ride will be upgraded in the near future?

I extremely see that as a possibility. The Thrill Zone looks really bad currently... Sorta like the County Fair area (Even though it looks MUCH better with afterburn.) I think they are making this area more... thrill along with FURY325. So, maybe this ride is being replaced with a much better ride... or maybe a repaint? We'll have to see in the future.

Too many people are obsessed with getting rid of things.

Scream Weaver doesn't need to be replaced. Its fine. And its fun. Add the fact that Carowinds as a whole is lacking in the flat rides department. It would be foolish to toss it out, or even replace it with something "better"... Why can't we have our cake and eat it too and hope they simply add another thrilling flat ride to the mix that already exists and not assume we have to sacrifice rides just to get more... :wtf:

I hope they repaint it, maybe even retheme it to better suit the Thrill Zone if they want to. There are so many possibilities that could come from overhauling the Thrill Zone area to welcome Fury next year.

^amen!

I'm so tired of all the "let's get rid of...." comments. Scream weaver is fun! Not sure why the height requirement is 54", but it's a ride that appeals to a variety of people. I wouldn't mind it being repainted and spruced up, but I don't want it to go away. And I want GR8SK8 to come back. :)

I have never rode Scream Weaver, and I plan to ride it next season. I hope it stays. There is no reason for it to go.

That ride would greatly benefit from a dynamic LED light package.

Speaking of Gr8sk8, heres a crazy theory: What if they put it in the location of those two tents that they are hinting at removing near Fury? That would be pretty cool. Im not too sure how big it was though so Im not sure if it could fit or not. Would be cool and add something else in the Thrill Zone re-amp.

Frenzoid was stored in the boneyard, Gr8 Sk8 is no where in sight. I doubt it is coming back, the odds of Skytower being removed are higher.

Skytower needs to stay. It is an icon of the park. And the oldest ride in the park. Is it difficult to maintain at times? Yes. But still, it is a great piece of Carolina heritage for the park and I hope it stands for years to come,

I hadn't ridden Scream Weaver in years. Last time I rode it was in 2002 I believe. I tend to get a headache on Enterprises. Since it's been awhile I may give it another spin next year when I make my long overdue return to my original home park.

Icon or not, rumor went around early in the season of it's removal. Skytower has been SBNO most of the season, there are signs addressing this. In the business world, addressing rumors and reassurance that the rumors are false normally is a false front.

If the captain says "Remain calm, the ship is fine" then the ship is normally sinking. Hopefully Skytower remains standing in the future but I have my doubts

That rumor was by soneone who got nearly everything about Fury wrong.

It's not going anywhere. It's an Intamin. CP's tower was not and iirc, support for parts was drying up.

based on what some of the reaction by the GP to the removal of the Plantation House was, I'd hate to see what the response would be to removing one of the last original Carowinds icon.

For the record, I love the skytower! :D
