Hey guys i am new here and this is my first post. Very excited for FURY. Anyway i know that something like this wouldnt happen for ATLEAST 5-6 years minimum but i really want one of these. I have been watching vids of Kingda Ka and it just looks like a must ride type thing. Cedar fair has been treating carowinds very fair so far and doing amazing things imo. What are your thoughts on this? Anyone ever been on top thrill dragster or ka? I Must ride one but dont have the money for a trip haha.

EVER? Sure probably. Unless the apocalypse or the collapse of the USA comes first or something.

Something like Dragster or Kingda Ka, though? Absolutely not. I don't see any way another one of those ever gets built unless some Chinese park that doesn't know any better and has a lot of money to throw around buys one.

I agree with all of these. But B&M says that the possibility of building a strata coaster is within their grasp. But lots of testing and further designs are needed. I saw a 2014 IAPPA video where they were talking about this as a possibility. I think that one day Carowinds may go to 400'. However not anytime soon. If anything they might invest in a small launch coaster or another B&M like a wing coaster or something.
Anyway. Yes it's a possibility, but not anytime soon.

I would have to say for the horrifying maintenance/reliability records that seem for one reason or another to plague many of the products that Intamin manufactures. Ok not trying to open a can of worms in the coaster community by comparing two products that are apples and oranges; but just for an example let us look regionally. Kings Dominion got I305, which had to undergo numerous shall we say "upgrades" to combat various elements of the ride that weren't (IMO) properly engineered in the design process.....and all of this before the end of the first season of operation, which we can't forget about the famous re-profiling of the turn either. All of that cost can seriously add up on just a single park's budget yet alone corporately. I honestly believe that the year of the Intimidation was secretly a corporate competition between B&M and Intamin to battle for Cedar Fair's trust. I do believe there was a chance Fury could have totally been an Intamin if they had made themselves seem deeming. Our Intimidator has been a much more cost efficient and returnable on investment than I would say KD's version based on the amount of the tweaking both have had since being operational.

As to the stratacoaster........I see a few options. 1 A polar coaster would be an interesting addition and could provide some interesting ventures for the park to explore as to possibilities of space usage...maybe tie-in a possible on site Hotel that has a Sky Tower that has a roller coaster wrapped around it :wtf: 2 A launched wing rider that inverts into the stratasphere 3 Mack gets tagged to do a launched strata that has a long layout

Strata Coaster? Maybe not until around 2030, but we most likely will get one if they become really popular (which I expect they will).

We'll know if and when Carowinds will get a Strata when CW gets a smaller, shorter B&M strata.

Im not so much thrilled in the height of a coaster but more so what it does. Will carowinds build one, everything is possible but is it worth it?
